Gite and fishing holidays with private carp lakes

Our gite is the former Notaires house This 200 year old farm house has been painstakingly restored so it now combines history with home comforts.

 It comes with the exclusive use of two fishing  lakes teeming with carp, roach and perch.The gite is set in our 75 acre estate in the Creuse countryside. You're surrounded by meadows lakes and woods which we invite you to explore. We have seen deer, wild boar, eagles, partridges, kingfishers and hoopoe bird. The area is ideal for cycling on quiet back roads or walking around the network of green lanes.

There is plenty to do and see in the area. Ancient churches, chateaux, museums, amazing rock formations, animal parks including the famous wolf sanctuary at Gueret, mazes, bustling local markets, swimming lakes with sandy beaches, quiet green lanes, busy towns, rocky gorges, peaceful rivers, even the famous volcanoes of the Auvergne – they’re all waiting for you.

We raise Llamas and Alapacas here at Les Fragnes . Yes before you ask, llamas do spit but ONLY at other llamas! Our llamas are as calm as the countryside around them. Join us as we take the girls to their field every day. Come and meet the Alpacas, they are cute!

We are fortunate to have an excellent boulangerie and shop in our local village Nouzerines, you can have freshly baked baguette with your morning coffee! There is a highly rated restaurant in the village and also a small agence de poste and a garage.
